Support Dax
In 1997 a small group of parents whose lives had been affected by childhood cancer got together and decided that since Gold was a precious metal, it should also be used to represent that which is most precious to us in the world – our children. The Gold color used to represent Childhood Cancer Awareness month also represents the tremendous courage and strength children and their families demonstrate daily.
Here are 12 ways you can #GOGOLD this month!
Update your social media profile to include a gold ribbon
Share social media posts and tag #GOGOLD
Wear gold and tell people why you’re wearing it
Outfit your local team(s)
Tell your story
Hold a gold themed bake sale and donate the proceeds to Dax or your favorite childhood cancer group
Organize a dress-down, uniform, or spirit day and ask everyone who participates to donate $1
Dye your hair or get an extension
Host a gold (jewelry) party
Petition your town and local representatives to speak publicly about this fight
Volunteer your time
Give it up for #GOGOLD- give up one of your favorite treats for the month
